SUMMER 2021 VOLLEYBALL (OUTDOOR) SEASON

Dates/Times: All games will be played on Thursday evenings between 6:00PM - 9:00PM. Games are 45 minutes each.

Facility: Frederick Douglass Park - 1616 E 25th St, Indianapolis, IN 46205

Registration Cost: $40 per player, which includes your registered player T-shirt (see registration information section below). The league is open to all and those in need of an equitable registration option can email us for more information.

Registration Information: Registration for the Summer 2021 league begins on Sunday, May 23, 2021 to Sunday, June 6, 2021; or when the league is full.

  • A team is formed when 8 players register and pay within 24 hours. Each team may have up to 10 players.
  • Captains: If you plan on being the captain of a team, you will need to register first, create the correct team and team name and then have players register under your team name. An email will be sent once you have signed up with additional team information and responsibilities as a captain; you will select your T-shirt color when you register your team. Captains and Co-Captains are also required to attend a mandatory Captain meeting on a date TBD. If neither the captain nor the co-captain are able to attend, they must provide a representative in their place.
  • Players: In an attempt to streamline the registration process, we will not be accepting free agent registrations for volleyball. Instead we will use the callout event to enable free agents to connect with teams looking for players and of the same skill level. Once teams have compiled the appropriate number of players, they should proceed to register together. Only teams that have registered the minimum number of players will be viable at the close of registration.

Volleyball Rating System: The goal of this year's volleyball program is to provide an inclusive environment for all skill levels of players. There will be two divisions: Recreational and Competitive. The ratings outlined below will help determine your division. We recognize that this is a subjective rating system, so we encourage captains and players to honestly reflect on their skill level when determining ratings.

Level 1 - A level 1 has never played before or has limited playing experience. They have not yet begun to bump, set, and spike and generally just aim to return a ball.

Level 2 - A level 2 player is a beginner but should know the basics of volleyball and has played some volleyball before. They are just beginning to bump, set, and spike.

Level 3 - A level 3 player is still in the early stages of the game but knows the skills. A level 3 player knows how to bump, set (a little) and spike but still needs practice to do these skills consistently.

Level 4 - A level 4 player has good experience playing and knows where to be on the court at all times when plays are developing. They know where to be when the opponent is hitting. A level 4 player also knows the footwork of and how to approach hitting effectively.

Level 5 - A level 5 player has extensive playing experience. They know all the skills extremely well and can run combination plays in a basic way if passes are good. That includes slides, tandems, crosses and back row hitting.
Zero Tolerance Policy: Stonewall Sports Indianapolis has zero tolerance of any bullying or harassment of any kind and for any reason of any player, captain, referee, official, participant, sponsor, director, officer or spectator.
