Meet our Indianapolis Team

Larry Stribling

Larry K. Ervin (he/him/his)
President 

Larry is a native of Chicago and a recipient of a Bachelors and Masters from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Larry moved to Indianapolis in 2016 and found a home in Indy through engagements with the LGBTQ+ community non-profit organizations. Larry is a human resource and public health professional with a passion for building relationships, team management, as well as fostering space for diversity, equity and inclusion. Larry also serves an executive team member of the Board of Directors for Indy Pride. In Larry's spare time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, singing and spending time with loved ones. He is excited and hopeful for the impact Stonewall will have on the LGBTQ+ community within Indianapolis.

Emily Knouse (she/her/hers)
Vice President

Emily is originally from Michigan City, IN and moved to Indianapolis in 2020. She has been participating in Stonewall Sports- Indianapolis since their first season of Kickball in the Summer of 2020. She currently plays softball, volleyball, and kickball. Emily works as a Marketing Associate with Birge and Held Asset Management. Even if she is not actively playing a sport she still enjoys showing up to games to cheer on the many friends she has made over the years in Stonewall Sports. In her spare time, Emily enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and playing video games. She previously served as Director of Events for Stonewall Sports - Indianapolis and is excited to be back on the Board of Directors.

Evan Kalember (he/him/his)
Treasurer

Evan grew up in Northwest Indiana and has been an Indianapolis resident since finishing his Masters in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019. He currently works as a Senior Conservation/Environment Budget Analyst with the State of Indiana focusing on strong fiscal stewardship and long-term sustainability. Evan has been participating in Stonewall Sports Indianapolis since Summer 2021 and is looking forward to joining the Board and helping the organization grow. He lives with his partner, Jason, and their recently adopted pitbull, Ares. Evan enjoys board games, snowboarding, learning new cocktails and planning vacations but never taking one.

Trenton Taylor (he/him/his)

Director of Operations

Trenton was born and raised in a small town of Saint Paul, IN. He grew up in a family that participated in a wide range of sports. He not only played in many of these sports, but also umpired or refereed many of them as well. He graduated from Ball State in 2008 with a Telecommunication degree, he then joined the Peace Corps where he learned about Community Building while teaching computer usage to students in West Africa. When he returned home, he moved to Indianapolis where he worked with RCI as a Customer Service Specialist. He decided to go back to school and get his teaching license. He is currently teaching 4th grade. Trenton's hobbies include showtunes, horror movies, anime, and video games. He has played kickball with Stonewall Sports since the first season and did one season of volleyball. Trenton is excited for this new role and hopes that he can help the organization grow and build a sense of community in Indy.

Kate Bordenkecher (she/her/hers)
Co-Director of Leagues- Dodgeball, Softball, Volleyball, and Bowling 

Kate grew up in Indianapolis and has been an Indiana resident her whole life. She attended North Central High School, where she was a varsity athlete in both volleyball and rugby. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Business and Informatics and continued her education at Ball State University with her MBA. Kate currently works for Cummins a s Digital Delivery Product Manager, implementing and deploying innovative digital products, globally. Kate is an active member of the Pride ERG at Cummins to educate and advocate for LGBTQ+ members and allies. Kate has been participating in Stonewall Sports since 2018 where she first played softball, but also plays volleyball, dodgeball, and kickball. She loves watching all sports, especially the Hoosiers! In Kate's spare time, she loves staying active with sports, kickboxing, and strength training. She also loves to travel, cook, and spend time with friends and family. Kate lives in Indy with her girlfriend Leah, who you'll also find playing sports within Stonewall.

Vince Burton

Vince Burton (he/him/his
Co-Director of Leagues- Pickleball, Kickball, and Bocce

Vince grew up in Terre Haute and has lived in Indianapolis since 2010. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a degree in Finance. He is currently the Vice President of Corporate Payment Solutions at Old National Bank where he has spent most of his career. Vince started his love of sports by competing in triathlon. He is a 10-time Ironman Triathlon finisher and the former Head Coach and founder of the Terre Haute Torpedoes Masters swim program. He has also served on the executive committee for the Board of Directors of the Indiana American Lung Association. He is a proud dad of his daughter Elizabeth and a dog dad to Murphy. Vince has been a member of the Go Sports Brah's team since Kickball's first season and also loves competing in volleyball. In his spare time, he enjoys projects around his house, watching IU sports, traveling, playing games and spending time with friends. He is looking forward to helping members of the LGBTQ+ community build life long friendships through Stonewall Sports.

Shaun Hughes

Shaun Hughes (he/him/his
Director of Communications

SoBro resident, pug dad and lover off all things flavor, Shaun is excited to join the Indianapolis Stonewall Sports Board. Jumping on this team means opening more doors to highlight our incredible members, sponsors, and work our organization is doing across the state of Indiana. In honor of Shaun's favorite league, don't forget to remember the 5 D's of dodgeball: Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge!

Alex Perdue

Alex Perdue (he/him/his)
Director of Events

Alex grew up a Hoosier but is a Southern California native by birth. He attended Greenwood Schools before completing undergrad at Franklin College where he participated in fraternity intramural his first exposure to sports. In his professional life, Alex works for Eli Lilly and Company helping to launch new clinical trial sites with a focus on budget and contract negotiations. Alex also serves on the Lilly employee resource group for LGBTQ employees and co-chairs the career mentor program. Alex is excited to see Stonewall grow its programmatic offerings from new sports leagues to social gatherings and league/community fundraisers. After his recent retirement from, Go Sports Brahs he is looking forward to this new path with Stonewall Sports Indianapolis.

Amber Redd (she/her/hers)
Director of Sponsorship and Philanthropy

Amber is a lifelong Hoosier, originally from Gary, Indiana. Amber moved to Indianapolis in 2012 to attend IUPUI where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Personal Training certification. She later attended the University of Indianapolis where she gained a degree in Physical Therapy, and is beginning school this October at Capella University to obtain a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Amber currently works at Optum as a behavioral and wellness coach and American Senior Communities as a physical therapist assistant. She has been participating in Stonewall Sports since 2018 playing kickball, dodgeball, and softball. In Amber's spare time she enjoys running, rock climbing, traveling, puzzles, and spending time outdoors and with friends. She is looking forward to building connections and hopeful to leave a lasting impact on the LGBTQ+ community.

Josh King(he/him/his)
Technical Director

Josh was born in Kentucky and has been a resident of the south side of Indianapolis and the Greenwood area since elementary school. A graduate of Indiana University with a BA in Criminal Justice, Josh currently works for Anthem reviewing appeals. He serves as the chair of the Indiana Chapter of Anthem's business resource group for LGBTQ employees. Josh also serves as a licensed official in baseball, softball and basketball for the IHSAA. He's excited to be able to be a part of Stonewall and looking forward to seeing Stonewall Sports Indianapolis continue to grow.

Brad Anspaugh (he/him/his)
Board Member

Brad Anspaugh has called Indianapolis home for 26 years. He was raised in Shelbyville, IN, and graduated ISU with a B.S. in business management. Known by his friends and family as a fabulous cook, he studied culinary arts at the famous West Baden Springs. On Brad's 40th birthday, he met up with friends and connected with some men that play in large gay softball leagues. This inspired him to organize a league in Indy with a friend that started in 2005. From neighborhood volleyball, kickball, and softball to college intramural sports, Brad is more than prepared to get people excited about Stonewall Sports.

Jacoba White (She/her/hers)
Director of Member Engagement

Originally from southern Indiana, Jacoba moved to Indianapolis in 2018 to work as a chemist in Eli Lilly. She previously played no sports before Stonewall, and loves that win or lose, she has made incredible friendships since the start of the league. In her free time, she enjoys performing in musicals, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Jacoba is excited to join the Board of Directors and enthusiastic to help in whatever way she can to grow and enrich the Stonewall community.

Grant Chaddock (he/him/his)
Director of Marketing

Grant is an Indiana native, originally from Westfield. He has also lived in Bloomington as an Indiana University student, where he received a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science. Grant currently enjoys living and working as an Environmental Manager in Downtown Indianapolis. In his spare time, Grant enjoys working out, learning languages, learning photography, and outdoor activities. In every stage of his life, Grant has been drawn to volunteer and recreational opportunities, so seeking a position on the Board of Directors was an easy choice.

Jeff Roach (he/him/his)
Pickleball Commissioner

Jeff has been involved with Stonewall Sports Indianapolis since its inception. Jeff served as the Director of Leagues for 2 years and continues to participate in all Stonewall Sports. While active in the sports community, Jeff also works as a college professor for a global college.

Annie Nelson (she/her/hers)
Spring Kickball Commissioner 

Annie has been a part of stonewall since the very first kickball season. Since then, she have been involved in every league as a participant or watching and cheering on those in the community. I have been in Indianapolis for 12 years. She enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends and family, and cooking/baking. She is excited to continue to be a part of stonewall in a new capacity and am looking forward to next kickball season!

CJ Glaser (he/him/his)
Fall Kickball Commissioner 

CJ is a native of Owensboro, KY, but has lived in Indianapolis since 2013. He moved to Indianapolis to obtain a degree at Marian University. He enjoys living downtown and works remotely as a Senior Quality Control Editor for clinical trials. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, attending concerts, traveling, cooking, and playing with his dog, Louie. CJ is excited for his opportunity to serve the local LGBTQ+ community.

Matt Mackowiak

Matt Mackowiak (he/him/his)
Volleyball Commissioner

Matt is an Indiana native and originally from South Bend, IN. He graduated from Ball State University and currently works as a Creative Project Manager for JD Sports. Matt has grown up around sports his entire life as his father was a high school athletic director. He played tennis from age 9 all the way through high school, but fell in love with volleyball as both sisters played. From attending club tournaments to cheering them coaching, volleyball runs in the family. In his spare time he loves baking, traveling, and giving all the attention to his corgi Charlotte. Matt is excited for this opportunity and support the LGBTQ+ community in Indianapolis.

Cameron Yates (he/him/his)
Dodgeball Commissioner

Cameron is an Indiana transplant by way of Missouri since he moved to the state to pursue his juris doctor degree at Indiana University-Bloomington. Professionally, he works for the State of Indiana where he practices employment and administrative law with a focus on employee accountability. Cameron continues to be an active participant in Stonewall Sports-Indianapolis in both the Kickball and Volleyball leagues, where he serves as proof that fitness does not equate athleticism or skill. While not being micro-managed and judged by his gerberian shepsky mix, Oliver, Cameron enjoys fitness, gaming of both video and tabletop varieties, trashy gay romance novels, and the occasional home improvement project.

Aric Furfaro
Bocce Ball Commissioner

Aric Furfaro is a native of Minnesota and has called Indianapolis home since 2010. He graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science in Design Technology with an emphasis in print, web, and exhibit design. Aric is the Design Director at Hamilton, a full-service event marketing agency. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, hiking, attending concerts, and traveling. Aric has participated in stonewall since the spring of 2022 and is excited to be joining and helping the organization grow.
